John Q. McGenty (AKA Gray) was drinking beer and chilling out after a long day playing code monkey for the man, and as he was perusing the inbound Johnson ads he caught a prio feed “Incoming encrypted message – Prepare to be Educated”. Following the message he ended up in VR staring down at an enormous virtual construct of a Gothic Manor House, gargoyles and all. Other than the formidable exterior, nothing was visible through the windows except for shelves upon shelves of tomes, hinting at a freight of knowledge so deep that even in this virtual place it seemed to weigh heavy on the earth.
Seven gets a call for a pick-up, business-as-usual, and gets an image of John Doe for his meet meat. Heading on to Tyler’s (where something’s always busted, and some local bar-fly is working to fix it), because “When the next Nuke gets dropped, everyone meet at Tyler’s”! And thats the vibe he walks in to after parking his sweet Cherry Light. Dropping a nod to “T” (3.5meters of Rhino hybrid, with a heart as big as his horn, or so we hear), Seven picks a spot in the shadows just inside the front to scope out the scene and watch for his joey-shakes-your-hand. 15 minutes later Seven see’s the joey walk in and spots a not-so-comely who’s been leaking enough water for Seven make his daily soak. Poor thing must have been born crying, just by looking at her. For some reason the joe-boy walks straight to her like a dudley-do-knight drawn to a damsel-in-a-goblin-tower. Disgusting as a limp asparagus.
Gray is chatting up Roxy Rockett when something catches his eye. Popping his detachable hand, he sneaks it over to the far corner. On the way, the hand gets spotted by a couple of androids, who spot it and try to kick it out of the way. The hand arrives at a booth and crawls up the pole, setting up a camera cross-fire to cover the room.
Consoling his weeping angel, the joey-wanna-be-nice cheers her up and seems to doing it passably. All of a sudden, Seven sees the joe take an interest in what appears to be an old book. Until he makes her weep, that is.
Looking at Jeanelle, he see’s a green ‘line’ connecting an AR augmented book and Jeanelle’s eye. Switching sides of the table, he moves to be physically comforting while attempting to get her to move enough to see if the line will follow. Once she breaks contact, she suddenly falls limp on the table.
Approaches Seven and John and the girl, and gets some attitude from Seven, how then looks over at the books on the table and turns back to say “Well, looks like you got the green light. Your car or mine”?
